Over?

I think I didn't do well for the oral presentation. I was more nervous after the presentation than before. I was afraid my mistake would not only affect my grade, but also my team members'.

However, I think is better to commit all the serious mistakes now and really learn from them than committing the mistakes at work in future.

Is it over? I don't think so. I think the end of this ES2007S presentation marks the beginning of many presentations in future. Anyway, I will definitely be more prepared and confident for my coming technological innovation presentation next week!

  1. Hi Wei Li,
dont' worry too much about it. What's done is done, I always believe in taking every experience as a learning platform. Reflect and improve on what you think could have been improved this time round.

Personally I think your presentation wasn't that big a blunder. The only problem was your nerves, but who can blame you for being nervous when it's one of the main components of your grade? i'm sure everyone would understand. Perhaps a few more rehearsals might help? In the worst case scenario, drugs. Ok i'm kidding

Also, perhaps you could pace your speech a very little bit slower. This gives you time to think as you speak, and more time to breathe and hence help you relax a little more.

Apart from that, it is apparent that you do know your content, just that you had to calm down and not panic.

  2. Hi Wei Li,

I thought that you were actually well prepared for the presentation. It's just that towards the end, I think nerves got the better of you and you forgot what you were supposed to say. I thought you exhibited good gestures throughout the presentation.

Overall, I guess maybe a little more rehearsals would have helped and try not to be too nervous. All the best for your upcoming presentation. =)

    Cheers,

  3. Hi Wei Li,

I feel that Team EOD really performed very well and it wouldn't be possible without the efforts of each and everyone in the team. So don't worry too much about it.

I must agree that it is better to make mistakes now and learn from them to better prepare for the future. Now, I shall share with you some of the points I feel would be relevant.

Firstly, apart from being nervous, I find that you spoke with a good pace. The pace and clarity of your speech is appropriate. Sometimes, the amount of contents presented doesn't matter, what matters is the clarity.

Secondly, you have maintained eye contact. This is good as the audience will then pay attention to you.

Well, that's all from me, thanks!

  5. Hi Wei li,

Knowing all your group members… Na I don’t think they will blame you. And to think about it, I feel that, it’s not as bad you think. And I love your slides!! Our group sort of got our inspiration of our slides from yours.

Probably, as others as pointed out, your nervousness level seems to increased proportionally to your speaking time. Wells, I felt the same when I was giving my presentation, hence I feel that we all just need to do more presentations!! I feels that giving presentation, need practices and with experiences, one will definitely improve.
Wells, I saw your TR2202’s presentation. Hence I got to saw you definitely have learned from your mistakes and improve!

I agree with Clearance as I too believe that life is a never ending learning journey. So keep trying and I believe you will be a wonderful presenter in the near future.

    xoxo,
    Student A
